Update for 2024

Unfortunately, we are unable to have Gift of Hope this year. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we hope we can bring Gift of Hope back in the near future. Below are some alternative options we encourage you to check out if you are in need of Christmas assistance this year.

Alternative Programs

Northern Valley Catholic Social Service (Adopt a family program)

The churches that are part of this agency run the Adopt a Family program. Children and families in need can apply for free toys, food baskets, winter clothing, presents, and other items from the charity.

A number of services are available in Butte County. There is an annual Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner in the community, including Chico and Paradise. Volunteers serve meals, pass out baskets of food, and give children small gifts, including from the Angel Tree Program.

The USMC partners with donors, charities, and individuals in the community. Together they collect unwrapped presents, gift cards, and toys and provide them to needy children.

About Gift of Hope

Since 2005, we have partnered with the local community to provide Christmas assistance to families in need in Butte County, California. Last year alone, with your support, we made Christmas happen for 1,557 underprivileged children, as well as give them each a free day pass to the Lights of Hope winter wonderland.
